Phase2 Becomes First Digital Agency to Sign U.S. Health Sector Climate Pledge

Arlington, VA - April 22, 2024 - Phase2 proudly announces its commitment as the first digital agency signatory of the Health Sector Climate Pledge, an initiative led by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This pledge underscores Phase2’s dedication to environmental stewardship and aligns with its mission to drive positive change through digital innovation.

The Health Sector Climate Pledge, developed by the HHS Office of Climate Change and Health Equity, challenges healthcare organizations and their partners to address climate change by significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions across their operations and supply chains. As a signatory, Phase2 pledges to:

• Reduce organizational emissions by 50% by 2030 and achieve net-zero by 2050
• Conduct an inventory of Scope 3 (supply chain) emissions by the end of 2024
• Develop and release a climate resilience plan

This commitment reflects Phase2’s long-standing dedication to environmental responsibility and innovation. Phase2 leads by example with its recent website update, which reduced the carbon output of the site from a page weight of 7.5 to 1.5 megabytes, resulting in reduced processing power and energy consumption. With data tracking using CarbonHound and commitments of its own, Phase2 has demonstrated leadership in sustainability within the healthcare industry.
